It initially was going to be full magi, but considering harrier existed I figured I would try to shove some damage and boon duration in there as well. The reason why I chose wells is for force generation and extra healing since alacrity was a close second priority when it was made. This build can easily get over 3k HPS on a paced rotation. You can safely switch it out if you don't need it.Ĥ.) Yes, essentially. I can't say that ideally you'll want to use shadow refuge or blinding powder because it really depends on what you need. And that's mainly what's important for this build to function.ģ.) Yes. So if anything goes wrong, you have a panic button with a good heal attached to it. The slot is actually a wildcard but I put it there as a placeholder. With the amount of force you will be generating, about 70% of the time your force will be close to max. All of your healing is done through shadowsteps and consume. It is mainly designed for raids and it has been tested in multiple high-damage situations, including wvw.Ģ.) Not reliant at all. It would be a different story if Shadow Refuge was selected, also in PvE group stealth could still be important to hand out barrier, but again the build linked isn't doing that I don't think.ġ.) This is absolutely best with a group, regardless of the comp, for force generation. I'm mentioning group stealth only because merciful ambush is being selected, the only benefit to that (I think, I don't know which is why I am asking) seems to be when you go to help res someone. The linked build doesn't use quick pockets, I'm assuming mostly to get the reduced cooldown on siphoning allies. I'm also asking about the build that was linked not what a heal Specter could theoretically do instead.
Like if we have 5 people in a sub group do they get all the healing until they are full and then it goes to whoever else? Or if there at 7 people it spreads it out no matter what remaining hp is? If it's fractals or a dungeon is it applying both to those 5 (assuming there are no npcs or minions out). The differences are important. Yeah I'm asking what the priority is specifically. In wvw it would be supplemental heals for a less organized group that isn't running a full composition (for example with Scrappers for Super Speed, Stealth, cleanse, and heal built into one easy to use package), or a Commander support with bonus distributed AoE heals in addition to a Scrapper for ensuring the Commander stays alive. You mentioned group stealth but that would be more relevant in wvw. RfI is redundant but could help you if you are struggling with the rotation. You get enough from Quick Pockets and Siphon to rotate between shroud and weapon skills with utilities. To be honest it's a mix because some content might want a dedicated healer in a group and others would suffice with a general healer. The heals are distributed in a five man group on a priority so it's pretty heavy but can spread out if the Heal Specter isn't in a group. Generally you'd run some kind of Might generation DPS paired with other kinds of DPS and some kind of general boon generator. #6 What if anything is it doing significantly better than Vent-alac ren or Mechanist? If Traversing darkness and Shadow Savior proc separately does this mean you heal more people than your sub-group or that the amount of general healing is less from each shadow step in a raid/strike? Related does that make taking both useless in 5-man content?Ĭan you just explain that more actually? It seemed like in beta it was using both on the 5 allies. The duration you have for alac upkeep seems to have really limited your ability to take other utilities, not that it was easy to just take two with 100% BD. #4 Is the strategy to out heal any condis, projectiles, aoes, etc? Though I get it's very useful to stealth someone who is downed. It it doesn't look like this build has any group stealth or smoke fields. #3 Is merciful ambush primarily for res'ing people? Is this an emergency use skill or integral to healing output? #2 How reliant is it on roll for initiative?
My concern is: Can any quick-dps match up with it? There is little or no res or protection available and it's not probably getting past 9 stacks of might on it's own. I'm pretty interested in knowing how good this is so i got some usage questions.
